The seaport of Posyet is located
Connection with the Trans Siberia Railroad makes possible transportation
of cargo through Posyet to any part of
Port has three mechanized berths. Total length is 425 meters. The depth in port is about 9.3–9.8 Mtr which provides entering of vessels with draft about 9.5 Mtr (Dwt 23,000 – 25,000 MT). The pilotage in Posyet is compulsory.
The cranes in port are as follows: "Albrecht" – 20 MT / 3 units; "Albatros"- 20 MT / 2 units.; "Sokol" – 32 MT / 6 units; "Kondor" – 40 MT / 1 unit; "KATO" – 40 MT / 1 unit.
There are open squares for keeping about 120,000 MT of cargoes simultaneously. Loading rate for bulk cargoes at port is 4,000 – 5,000 MT per day. The warehouse for general cargoes is 3,000 square meters.
Port can handle all kinds of bulk cargoes, general cargoes and containers.

Depth at port entering is about 20-30 mtr. The port consists of trade and fishing ports, 2 roads – eastern and western. There are 17 berths the total length about 4,200 mtr. The port is specialized in handling of general cargo, containers, bulk, timber.
There are several stevedoring companies at port each owns 2-3 berths. The equipment of port is various. Port cranes, warehouses provide quick dispatch of cargo all year round.
Pilotage at port is compulsory for all vessels. There is a possibility for vessels in port for bunkering, fresh water and food supply.
Vostochny Port is located in deepwater natural bay of Vrangel which cuts into eastern coast of Nakhodka Gulf between the Cape Kamensky (42°46’N-133°03’Ost) and the Cape Petrovsky.The Gulf of Nakhodka is at the west coast of the sea of Japan and is part of Peter the Great Gulf area.
Port has big container terminal. It is playing a role of the transit
point of containers that goes to
Coal and grain terminals also equipped very well with the special facilities. This complex provides fast handling of export coal and import grain. Also port handles different general cargoes, timber and woods.

There is a possibility for vessels in port for bunkering, fresh water and food supply.
Vanino is the largest port of
The depth in the port are about 12 metres. The main cargoes are metal, timber, coal, containers. Port is connected with liner container service with Magadan, and also railway ferry with Sakhalin. Vanino has good facilities, it is perspective, up-to-date port.
Pilotage is compulsory; all kind of supplies is available.
Magadan is located on the harbor of the Okhotsk sea at the North
East of Russia in
Depth in the port is about 10 metres, there is no dangerous places at entering, but, anyway, pilotage in port is compulsory.

Port has cranes up to 40 tons capacity. The main cargoes are containers, steel scrap, frozen fish and others.

Weather and ice conditions: Berths are not sheltered from southerly/south-westerly winds. After storm warning all berthed vessels are moved from berth to outer roads. Port not freezes, but in Jan.-Feb. ice fields are drifted to the Aniva Bay from Okhotsk Sea with easterly winds. When wind changes direction the bay again gets free of ice. No ice-breakers available.
Cargo operations: carried out alongside berth with shore cranes
only. Port works from 08:00 a.m. till midnight in 2 shifts, including
Sundays and most of holidays.
Average daily loading rate: 800 m3 for logs, 1000-1200 mts for bulk
cargoes, 300-400 mts for general cargoes.
Authorities: There are offices of immigration, customs and
quarantine authorities. clearance is carried out aboard at berth only.
for clearance at outer roads a special permission is required in each
case.
Port is open for foreign flag vessels.
Maritime administration of Korsakov Seaport (governmental organization
supervising shipping business, port structures and responsible for
ships’ safety) collects compulsory port dues for subject port and
some others.

Position: at western coast in the South of Sakhalin island.

Port Restrictions: Depths alongside berth: 6 m, Port entrance
depth: 7 m, max. LOA: 130 m (110 m in Rules) 6.5 and up to 7.0 meters
draft is officially allowed by Harbor Master at summer time. (6.0
m is required by Rules, not actual draft Limit, but it is strictly
observed at winter time only). We have experience vessels entered/sailed
with actual draft 7.4 m.
Fishery port (situated in a separate harbor) has entrance restriction
6.0 m, and 10 m at the inner harbor, so after dredging entrance fairway
allowed draft may increase up to 10 m.
Weather and ice conditions: Berths are not sheltered from westerly winds. After storm warning all berthed vessels are moved from berth to outer roads. Port never freezes, is open all year round.
Cargo operations: are carried out at berth with shore cranes
only. Shore cranes capacity up to 40 mts, total 12 cranes for 2 berths.
Port works from 08:00 a.m. till 01:00 at night in 2 shifts, including
Sundays and holidays.
Average daily loading rate: 1000 m3 for timber, 1000-1500 mts for
bulk cargoes, 600 mts for general cargoes.
Authorities: There are offices of immigration, customs and
quarantine authorities. Clearance is carried out both at berth and
at outer roads (provided no swell).
Port is open for foreign flag vessels.
Maritime administration of Kholmsk Seaport (governmental organization
supervising shipping business, port structures and responsible for
ships’ safety) collects compulsory port dues for subject port and
some others.
Supplies: available: fresh water, provisions, ship supply
Position: at the western coast of Sakhalin island. (Lat.:
50.53N, Long.: 142.08E.)
Pilotage: not available
Port Restrictions: Berths are available for small port craft.
There is no draft or LOA restrictions for vessels at anchor.
Weather and ice conditions: Roads are not protected from northerly/westerly winds. So loading operation stops during strong wind and heavy swell. Favorable period is early May - mid of September. Later on storm period begins. Because of icing ports are closed from early December till end of April every year.
Cargo operations: Only one ship at a time may be handled per
port. While the ship is staying at anchor logs are delivered from
shore stock with barges to ship’s side and loaded with ship's gear.
Simultaneously up to 4 barges may be used.
Average loading rate is from 600 to 800 m3 logs per good weather day.
Cargoes: exporting timber (sawn and pulp logs), any other cargoes
are quite occasional.
At this port, we'd like to draw your attention to the following: Due
to loading at outer roads vessels often sail short-loaded (ie non-full
use of ship's laudability due to bad trimming/swell etc).
Authorities: There is office of immigration authorities at
Alexandrovsk used for clearance of vessels loading at Alexandrovsk
as well as for vessels that are loaded at Khoe and Tangi)
All ports are open for foreign flag vessels, but for Khoe and Tangi
special permission of immigration is required each time ship calling
there.

Uglegorsk – Shakhtersk - Boshnyakovo
Position: at the western coast of Sakhalin island, in its middle part. (Lat.: 49.05N, Long.: 142.02E)
Pilotage: not available.
Port Restrictions: Inner harbors are accessible for port craft of maximum draft to 1.8m. Any other vessels are handled at outer roads by ship's cargo gear. From shore stock cargoes are delivered with barges. Anchorage is recommended as close to the shore as the ship may safely approach. No draft and LOA restrictions for vessels at anchor.
Weather and ice conditions: Outer roads are not protected from westerly winds. So loading operation may stop at strong wind and heavy swell. Favorable weather prevails from mid April till September. Then begins period of very often storms. Because of icing ports are closed from mid December till early April.
Cargo operations: Only one ship at a time may be handled.
While the ship is staying at anchor cargo is delivered from shore
stock with barges to ship’s side and loaded with ship's gear. Simultaneously
up to 4 barges may be used.
Average loading rate is 600 m3 (logs) and 1500 mt (black coal) per
day.
Cargoes: mainly coal and timber.
Authorities: There is no local branches of customs, immigration
and sanitary authorities, therefore any vessels arriving for loading
or leaving the port have to call other port for port clearance. Whereas
before entering port Russian flag ship may obtain clearance at any
Russian port, but after loading outward formalities are to be carried
out at a Sakhalin port (according to customs requirements). Usually
it is the port of Kholmsk, because any vessel passes it on her way
southward. In case of a foreign flag vessel inward clearance to be
carried out at Kholmsk (according to immigration requirements). Before
commencement of loading permission of customs should be obtained and
a customs officer should have arrived for supervision of loading progress.
Uglegorsk and Shaktersk are open for foreign flag vessels, but special
permission of immigration is required each time.
Maritime administration of the Shakhtersk Seaport (governmental organization
supervising shipping business, port structures and responsible for
ships’ safety) is in charge of the subjects ports. It collects all
compulsory port dues and insists dues are to be paid before ship's
departure, otherwise sailing permission is not granted.

Position: at the eastern coast of Sakhalin. (Lat.: 49.13N,
Long.: 143.07E)
Pilotage: not available
Port Restrictions: Berths are available for port barges. Any
ships stay at anchor place situated in 1.5 NM from the lighthouse
at depths 20-25m. There is no draft or LOA restrictions for vessels
at anchor.
Weather and ice conditions: Roads are not protected from northerly/westerly winds. So loading operation stops during strong wind and heavy swell. Favorable period is early May - mid of September. Later on storm period begins. Due to icing ports are closed from December till end of April every year.
Cargo operations: Only one ship at a time may be handled.
While the ship is staying at anchor logs are delivered from shore
stock with barges to ship’s side and loaded with ship's gear. Both
ports are handled by the same stevedore company of Poronaysk Port
with their barges and tugs. Vladimirovo is mere unequipped shore stock.
Average loading rate is 800 m3 logs per day. Due to influence of daily
tide (tugs and barges can enter/leave the port at high water hrs only)
port Poronaysk working hrs are from 00:00 to 09:00 am and from 2:00
am to 9:00 pm.
Cargoes: exporting sawn and pulp logs.

Pilotage: compulsory.
Port Restrictions: Depths alongside berth: 7 m, Port entrance depth: 6.3 m, max. LOA: 120 m (110 m in Rules) 6.0 and up to 6.5 meters draft is officially allowed by Harbor Master.
Cargo operations: Two ship at a time may be handled. Shore
cranes capacity up to 40 mts, total 2 cranes for 2 berths.
Authorities: There are offices of immigration, customs and
quarantine authorities.
Supplies: none.
Position: at the eastern coast of Sakhalin island. (Lat.: 51.48N, Long.: 143.12E)
Pilotage: compulsory.
Port Restrictions: Berths are available for port barges. Any ships stay at anchor place situated in 1.5 NM from the lighthouse at depths 20-25m. There is no draft or LOA restrictions for vessels at anchor.
Weather and ice conditions: Roads are not protected from westerly winds. So loading operation stops during strong wind and heavy swell. Favorable period is early June - mid of October. Later on storm period begins. Due to icing ports are closed from November till end of May every year.
